Presented in English as part of the 2026 Rehearsal for Truth International Theater Festival, the production stars Mariana Novak, Austrian actress Petra Staduan, and Ira Süssenbach.

About the Play

Three shipwrecked men stranded on a raft become the protagonists of a sharp and thought-provoking exploration of power, survival, and society. In Süssenbach’s contemporary interpretation, the raft serves as a metaphor for a world facing profound challenges, including climate change, war, extremism, migration, and natural disasters. Combining absurdist humor with political resonance, Out at Sea offers audiences a compelling reflection on the uncertainties of our time. The performance is part of the Rehearsal for Truth International Theater Festival, an annual New York showcase of contemporary Central and Eastern European theater honoring the legacy of Václav Havel.
