sneakers, which also operate as vessels for the artist’s lavish floral arrangements. “Growing up,” says Honorroller, “I believed the right pair of sneakers could help me become the best on the playground. Looking back, I realize it was never really about the shoes. It was about ambition and the desire to become more.” Adding a floral element introduces something organic and unpredictable to the artist’s homage to personal growth. On Wed, Oct 14, Honorroller will lead a special woodworking workshop in which participants will assemble and paint their own sculptural sneaker vessel. Exploring color, pattern, and symbolism, learn to transform the familiar form of the sneaker into a one-of-a-kind work of art reflecting your personal journey. All materials will be provided, and the program is discounted for MAD Members.
