wisdom and contemporary science, it offers practical frameworks for navigating modern life. This program is about getting untrapped, a shift away from the artificial toward an “ecology of practices” that actually works. We aren’t offering quick fixes; we are opening an honest inquiry into what it means to be human. Where Artificial Intelligence processes information, Authentic Intelligence cultivates meaning. Mark and Dave will bridge three core perspectives: Early Buddhist Texts: Exploring Pali Canon teachings on mindfulness and mettā to extract practical tools for understanding the mind’s purpose and function. Cognitive Science: Grounded in 4E Cognition and Predictive Processing, showing the mind is not an isolated computer, but an active, embodied prediction engine continuous with its environment. Existential Philosophy: Grappling with modern cultural critiques to find a secular path toward freedom, confronting digital conformity, and reclaiming authentic individuality. Who Should Attend Designed for both new and experienced practitioners, this program is suited for anyone seeking a rigorous, grounded approach to living with clarity and agency in modern culture. Participants will: Understand the critical role that metta plays within the cultivation of mindfulness. Be introduced to the most current and cutting edge trends in the field of cognitive science. Leave with a realistic grasp on the impact AI can have on our well being, as well as where not to be “overwhelmingly concerned”. Note: This program will be recorded.
