phones, we can easily miss the whole experience of feeding and nourishing these bodies. Mindful eating is the practice of bringing curious, kind and nonjudgmental attention to the experience of eating. We can tune in to the process from the beginning signs of hunger, to the process of planning a meal, and the actual act of feeding one’s self. When we are able to meet our present moment experience without judgment, it supports nervous system regulation, greater emotional awareness and attunement to your gut. In this way we can transform the chore or pleasure trap of eating into a nourishing and grounding experience. Mindful eating is NOT a diet, or a practice aimed at controlling what you eat, or changing your body. The practice of mindful eating can support building a relationship of trust and care with your body, it can deepen your understanding of what nourishes and supports a feeling of wellbeing, and it invites us into greater presence with the whole sense experience of eating. In this evening of mindful eating we will explore mindfulness, habits and ideas that influence our relationship to food and bodies, and practice bringing curious and kind attention to the sense experience of mealtime. There will be guided practice opportunities, as well as some silent eating for individual practice time, and discussion to share observations and learnings. A variety of light snacks (including gluten-free options) will be provided to support this exploration of the practice of mindful eating. Registration: Please register below.
