something inside us feels broken, or somehow off. We sit with restlessness, self-criticism, grief, or a vague sense that we’re working against ourselves. The practice offers spaciousness, yet some of that interior noise persists, even increases, as we get quieter. Left ignored, it can start to feel like we’re stuck in the spin cycle of our habitual thought patterns—as if this is just who we are. Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate therapeutic model that invites us to get curious about our challenging parts rather than trying to quiet them. Every part of us, even the ones we’d rather not claim, carries something worth understanding. The title borrows from Richard Schwartz’s book No Bad Parts: There is no part of you that’s broken or in need of elimination; some parts have simply not yet been met with enough care. This workshop brings IFS into conversation with contemplative practice, letting each illuminate the other. Meditators will recognize IFS’s emphasis on presence and curiosity; newcomers will find an accessible way in through short talks, guided meditation, small group sharing, and reflective writing. No prior experience is required. By day’s end, you’ll have a working map of your own inner system and real, direct experience of meeting your parts with curiosity instead of judgment. Join us to practice a different way of being with what was never broken to begin with. Note: This program will be recorded. The recording will be sent to all registrants after the program, so please feel free to sign up even if you cannot join in real time.
